Useful tools for real audiences.

A website, a meeting packet, or a student guide starts with the same question: what does someone need to understand or do next? These examples show how I turn that question into a useful tool.

Writing & worldbuilding

The Book of Ekrius

Six friends, different ways of seeing, and a world that asks more of them than strength alone. My fantasy adventure follows Ekrius and the Wayward Flames through loyalty, difficult choices, wit, and the cost of protecting other people.

This passion project brings my engineering instincts into conversation with imagination, friendship, and storytelling. Explore the companions, take a first look at the map, and download the complete 155-page Book One.

Websites & organizational continuity

RVA Iotas and NPHC Metro Richmond

Volunteer organizations need clear public information and a dependable place to find events and resources. I help organize chapter and council websites, calendars, communication, and leadership documentation so that useful knowledge can carry forward.

For Omicron Omega, my work includes chapter history, calendars, leadership resources, and meeting packets that bring the agenda and supporting documents together before officers meet. The purpose is continuity: another leader should be able to find the record, understand the next step, and take ownership. For NPHC Metro Richmond, I help visitors find local chapters, events, and service opportunities.

Volunteer media workflow

Third Street Bethel media system

Worship technology can depend on too few people knowing where everything is and what to do when something fails. I support livestream production, equipment checks, volunteer orientation, and practical documentation.

The goal is a workflow that another volunteer can understand, share, and recover. Clear audio, readable announcements, and a reliable broadcast help make participation possible beyond the building.

Make the message easier to understand.

Websites, flyers, presentations, graphics, and video can help an organization explain what it does and make the next step clear. I build around the audience, the message, and the practical work needed to keep it useful.

A flyer needs a readable date, location, and next step. A résumé needs a credible account of the person’s work. A presentation needs a sequence the audience can follow. Those small decisions are where I start. The illustration summarizes this practice; it is not a screenshot of a delivered client site.

Engineering 101: design a better classroom.

The 12-page student guide gives beginners a familiar space to investigate. Students consider power, lighting, comfort, and safety, make a design choice, then explain why it works.

My contribution is the learning sequence, plain-language explanations, visual guide, and student activities. The guide is a classroom resource, not a professional construction document.
